Looking for an all-inclusive in the Bahamas? Our favorite is Sandals Royal Bahamian. We just spent the last 4 nights here after taking an easy 3 hour flight from Philadelphia, and a short 15 minute drive from the airport. This resort is 20 minutes from downtown Nassau and 30 minutes from Paradise Island. The footprint of this resort is small but a lot is packed into this walkable resort. They have 2 towers, East Bay and West Bay. East Bay is starting renovations tomorrow while West Bay was recently renovated. There are also villas, some with plunge pools as well. There is no shortage of restaurants here and the food is wonderful! There are 10 different restaurants and 2 food trucks. Only 2 of the restaurants, Butch’s and La Plume require reservations. Some food specialties are Teppanyaki, Sushi, Italian, French, Steak, Crepes, as well as burgers, pizza, conch fritters, fish and much more. We loved eating on the pier at Gordon’s…and another traveler told us to try the nachos at Calico’s….they did not disappoint! There are 8 bars/cocktail lounges including swim up bars. Our favorite bars were Mr. B’s for delicious cocktails and the Balmoral Bar & Piano Lounge. Avi hosts fabulous sing alongs at the Balmoral while beautiful jazz and standards were played at Mr. B’s. They also host weekly theme nights as well as other entertainment.
Our favorite part of this resort is it feels like 2 resorts in one due to their private offshore island. A boat runs there numerous times a day. There you will find a pool with a swim-up bar, a restaurant, beaches and plenty of hidden spaces to sit. Snorkeling is also offered here as well as massages on the beach.
In addition to snorkeling, Sandals Royal Bahamian offers non-motorized water sports such as Hobie Cats, Water Trikes, Kayaks and Paddleboards …as well as Scuba Diving for certifed divers. Want to get certified? You can do that too for a fee. Interested in land sports? They have those too… Basketball, Croquet, Beach Volleyball, Billiards and Pool Table, Darts, Indoor Games, Shuffleboard, Table Tennis, Tennis and Pickleball. They have a gym that overlooks the beach and for those looking for a spa? Their Red Lane Spa is wonderful.
